Lainie and Miro from Los Angeles
We have had the pleasure of two fantastic volunteers from Los Angeles - Lainie Liberti and her son Miro.
Lainie taught us to first, define, and second, promote the dreams of this project to a wider audience.
Because of the financial crisis, Lainie closed her marketing and branding agency in LA and decided to travel with her son for a year through Central and Latin America.
In particular, she wanted to come and see us!
Her website (www.jungle8.com) shows that much of her branding work was for non-profit organizations, helping them to define their strategy.
Clients include Carsey-Warner-Mandabach, CBS’s 93.1 JACK FM, Korbel Champagne, UCP (United Cerebral Palsy Foundation) and UCSF.
At the same time, she was volunteering by giving courses of graphic-design and web-design to teenagers from poor neighborhoods in LA.
She stayed in Granada for seven weeks and fell in love with the place.
She heard about our circus house through friends in the couchsurfing (www.couchsurfing.com)community and lived here during her stay in Granada.
She gave workshops in the general principles of marketing and publicity and how to launch a campaign.
We applied what we learnt from Lainie to begin our own campaign for new donars in December with the theme - “Gift of giggles”... followed by a great techno party.
She explained that what she liked about the project was Diego´s vision and determination.
She said she was really honored to in a place where she could express both sides of her universe: the “business-marketing” and art (butoh...).
In the next few weeks, they will travel through Honduras and Guatemala before coming back in Granada for the Berrinche Ambiental at the end of January.
Then onwards to South America.
Thank you very much for your help Lainie and Miro.
