The majority of our international visiting artists and volunteers arrived on Sunday and yesterday, Monday, saw the opening parade and first performances. La Escuela opened the festival in front of Tres Mundos Art Centre in la Plaza de Los Leones to an enthusiastic reception.

Later that evening the clown duo Los International Prodan from Argentina and Chile were the first show to perform in our new palapa theatre. We were amazed that the local community came in such numbers to see the show and they turned out to be a wonderful, responsive audience.

We could not have asked for a better baptism of our still unfinished stage, this was clowning of the first order. El Berrinche Ambiental is a community festival and it was so fitting to share this happy night with both our local community and our community of artist friends.

Today we start work in the other communities of Granada with the first of our afternoon activities for the local children and tonight we are presenting various acts along the wide boulevard street La Calzada.
