The Power of Theatre...

The magic of the School of Mime and Comedy keeps on attracting special people to our project and our beautiful colonial Granada. This time is the Andalusian actor and theater director Manuel Muñoz Bellerín, who thanks to LLAR association support is with us since three weeks ago.

In Sevilla, Manuel works in social drama with a professional company called "Turdetania" and another called "Theater of Inclusion" with elderly homeless.

He believes theater is a human development medium where we shared values, attitudes, feelings and experiences of our present reality projected into the future. "Art is a right which must be developed by anyone, a model for cultural, social and human learning" reaffirms enthusiastically.

The next day of his arrival from Spain he began an intense workshop with the group leader of the school. He said: "As the group has enough acting experience I will teach you two points, training in social theater techniques and collective creation for the staging."

Working on these two points came-out the idea of experiencing the plays and poetry work of Federico Garcia Lorca. This is a great challenge for us because we had never done anything similar. We want to surprise the audience Granada and show them what good theater is. "Trópico Onírico" (tropical dream) is a portrait of Garcia Lorca in four acts which will premiere on August 27 at the Casa de los Tres Mundos at 7:00 pm.
